ABOUT US
THRIVE Dance Company is the first and premier dance organization at UC Berkeley solely devoted to contemporary dance.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Among dancers, there is a term called, “living.” Living is a verb that embodies the extraordinary feeling shared by all dancers who lose themselves in movement. In this sustained movement, all thought escapes you, and the only thing left is everything you’ve been holding inside escaping you through the expression of your body. Maybe they call it living because only when we exert all the energy we have while our minds are empty and our hearts are full do we experience moving, breathing life in its fullest form. Maybe when we truly let go, we truly live.
